It wasn't straight, but after much abuse my previously curly hair that had not been curling properly any more... well I woke up and it was like big fat magazine curls. Not frizzy tiny ones. And that was after sleeping on it all night. I almost didn't want to wash it out. I did and it was only ok afterwards but I am going to keep using it - I have high hopes. I think you could almost not wash it out if you have curly hair and just go as is. Hm... It also didn't look greasy at all. And it smells great! I had tried the Redken anti-ageing stuff - and I have to say in comparison, that product made my hair feel "fake" and coated and I didn't like the smell at all. Very chemical-ly. Alterna's product just smells good and your hair feels nice after. Love it. I have waste long dry hair. I was weary that it would not be moisturizing enough because it says it's for all hair types. However, I did find it moisturizing. It is not all natural, but it does have several natural and quality extracts that are beneficial to the hair. I am very aware of what ingredients actually benefit the hair and which ones just "cover up" the look dry/damaged hair. This mask has many extracts and oils that heal dry hair. Such ingredients include cassia leaf extract, carrot root extract, evening primrose extract, rosemary, algae extract, nettle, grape seed oil, and arnica extract just to name a few. It also contains silk amino acids and lipids for both strength and moisture. It also smells divine like flowers, but it is not overpowering. I highly recommend this mask. The masque arrived first and I used it the first time without the matching shampoo and conditioner. My hair, although not terribly damaged, does run dry and frequently lacks luster because of my age (44), grey content (a whole lot) and chemical enhancement. After one use my hair was shiny, bouncy and soft! I am super impressed...for once a product actually exceeded my expectations...by a mile.... The only improvement they could make on this product is its fragrance which is not terrible but in my opinion is just a bit odd. I recently had my long, fine (aka wispy) hair cut short after wearing it in a pony tail for about 15 years. The stylist used this on my hair before blowing it out and it made a big difference. I use it in a couple ways - put it on wet and blow dry it followed by a small amount of the Hemp hair concrete to style it. Some days I put it in wet and let it air dry and then ruffle it out with my fingers for a more toned down "messy" look that still holds reasonably well. I like this better than some of the more aggressive gel type products that lock your hair in place.
