It wasn't straight, but after much abuse my previously curly hair that had not been curling properly any more... well I woke up and it was like big fat magazine curls. Not frizzy tiny ones. And that was after sleeping on it all night. I almost didn't want to wash it out. I did and it was only ok afterwards but I am going to keep using it - I have high hopes. I think you could almost not wash it out if you have curly hair and just go as is. Hm... It also didn't look greasy at all. And it smells great! I had tried the Redken anti-ageing stuff - and I have to say in comparison, that product made my hair feel "fake" and coated and I didn't like the smell at all. Very chemical-ly. Alterna's product just smells good and your hair feels nice after.
